About Orthodontics
Feeling self-conscious about your smile? Maybe your smile is inhibiting your oral health. For most, achieving a healthy, beautiful smile is the reason for receiving orthodontic care. Correcting your concerns with braces not only will improve the way you look and feel, but it will also improve technical misalignment concerns such as your bite and speech. We want you to feel comfortable, confident, and healthy throughout your entire orthodontic experience; Hurst Orthodontics is dedicated to making sure that you receive the quality care and impeccable results that you deserve during this transformation
How Orthodontic Treatment Works
Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!
Duration of Treatment
Our treatments are customized to each patient individually, meaning that treatment duration will vary patient to patient. Most of our treatments last one to three years depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and the severity of your case. Hurst Orthodontics is committed to giving you a successful treatment, but success is not solely based on us. A big factor in a successful treatment is your effort and commitment to following rules, guidelines, and regimens that will provide results. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker regular treatment time.
Before beginning your orthodontic treatment, Dr. Hurst and his associates will discuss all of your options, where they will provide an estimate for how long your full treatment may take. Please contact our office to learn more about the orthodontic services we provide and to set up a consultation.<
